Bingham Cricket Club has announced its winter training programme which will commence next month.

Winter net practice will take place in the main sports hall at Bingham Leisure Centre and all new players are welcome to attend.

The caters for age six upwards and the first team has recently been buoyed by an unexpected promotion to Division H of the South Notts League after they finished fourth in Division J last season.

New club chairman Paul Maylard-Mason said he was upbeat about the forthcoming season: “I remember joining the club in 2003 when we were rock bottom of the South Notts League, and in a decade we’ve been promoted five times, which is testament to how much work a lot of people have put in behind the scenes.”

Nets begin next Saturday (February 2) with Kwik Cricket for six to 10-year-olds at 9am till 10am and junior hardball between noon and 1am. Adults and juniors wishing to play senior cricket should attend sessions on Tuesdays between 8pm and 9pm. Cost is £3 members, £4 non-members.
