News of the go-ahead for Lincolnshire County Council to spend £48m on Lincoln’s latest by-pass road is yet more confirmation that the forgotten people of Grantham will never get their much-needed by-pass.
Apparently councillor William Webb has been working towards this for the last 20 years, but our councillors, Martin Hill, Richard Davies and countless others, have had 50 years-plus of talking, but are still unable to confirm when Grantham’s desperately needed bypass will happen.
Don’t they care about the proportion of that £48m that will come from Grantham Council Tax payers?
We need a fair amount of our taxes invested in our own town, and just rearranging the paving stones in the Market Place is simply not good enough.
