A sports club in Bingham has paid tribute to one of its members who died on Monday.
Robert Roy Poole, 51, had been a member of Bingham Archery Club for 10 years and lived in the village.
He died after being hit by a train on the East Coast main line near Belton Lane, Grantham.
Club secretary Simon Barnicott said: “Bob was a good archer and had the potential to shoot at a high level, but that wasn’t what he was after in his shooting. Bob enjoyed the company of other archers and the sheer pleasure of shooting well. He contributed a lot to the success of the club over recent years and will be missed by all of us.” Mr Poole was married with two children and was a self-employed joiner. His funeral will take place at Wilford Hill Crematorium on Thursday.
