Buckminster started the game the quickest and scored with only five minutes on the clock. Darren Parker broke through the Swans’ defence, rounded keeper Ian with Flavell and slotted home.
It was not long before the Swans were back in the game and levelled. Joe Clarke whipped in a corner which was met by Liam Warner whose header was deflected off a Buckminster player and into the net.
Buckminster regained the lead after a defensive error by Andrew Willis which left Liam Jacques with another one-on-one with Flavell. Parker won the battle of wills and put the ball away.
Bucky extended their lead through good work from winger Steve Young who found Danny Moore on the edge of the Swans area and stroked the ball home.
Just before the break Moore picked the ball up on the left hand side of the Swans area, and knocked it to Young who dinked over Flavell for a 4-1 half time lead.
The Swans came out in the second half with a fresh impetus and with the introduction of Leigh Radford, looked like a team that was far from finished.
Craig Wilson picked the ball up on the right hand side of the Buckminster goal. After shrugging off his marker, he unleashed a shot that hit both posts before finding its way into the net.
On the hour mark, a Clarke corner was met by Swans captain Jones who hit a volley on the run that found the top right hand corner, giving the keeper little chance.
The second half was one way traffic but the Buckminster keeper was having the game of his life and made some quite unbelievable saves to prevent the Swans from gaining an equaliser.
Buckminster went down to 10 men after Parker received his second yellow card but still Swans could not find a breakthrough, and United held on to return to the top of the table.
