Grantham’s ladies took on Louth with just 10 players but overcame their disadvantage to claim an away victory.

Despite being a player down, Grantham stamped their authority on the game in the first minute by scoring a quick goal from the pushback. Sacha Smith, Anna Littlecott and Octavia Meakin took swift advantage, and Meakin slotted past the Louth keeper.
Grantham were subsequently able to dominate and a quick pass from Kirstin Barney to Smith opened up an opportunity and she made it 2-0 within the first eight minutes of the game.
Louth settled down and began to exert some pressure on the Grantham defence, and were able to beat Grantham keeper Debi Wood.
Spurred on to retain control of the game, Grantham rallied and continued to press the Louth defence. A penalty corner awarded to Grantham resulted in a goal from Anna Littlecott.
Louth did not let this setback affect their game and a gap in the midfield allowed their forwards to strike the ball through the defenders, bringing the score to 3-2 at half time.
The second half saw a reinvigorated Louth side pressing hard on the Grantham goal, but solid defending from Sarah Johnson, Michaela Kerrigan and Katie Sandell ensured that keeper Wood was not tested too much.
Megan Louise Footitt and Lucy Wade also worked well to keep Louth at bay in this keenly contested match which produced a great result for the Grantham side.

Grantham’s men were hit by two late goals but were still able to come away from Market Deeping with a point.
They led 3-1 through goals from Rob Buxton, Will Hill and Sam MacAllister but were unable to hold on, with Deeping’s equaliser coming from the last action of the match.
