NEXT year promises to be an exciting one for entertainment in Grantham, with a whole host of great shows lined up at the town’s biggest venue.

The Meres, in Trent Road, has played host to some fantastic acts over the past couple of years, and this year is set to be just as good.

After a sell-out show in October, comedian Jimmy Carr is set to make a return.

Jimmy Carr - Gagging Order is on at The Meres on October 5, a brand new show with brand new jokes. The show will be packed with one-liners, stories and jokes - some clever, some rude and a few totally unacceptable.

Everybody’s welcome, just leave your conscience, sense of common decency and moral compass at home.

Tickets are £25 and are available now.

Jimmy might be the biggest name coming to The Meres, but the other acts have plenty to offer.

First up is the Solid Silver Sixties Show on March 8, starring Peter Noone, Chris Montez, Brian Pool and backed by Vanity Fare.

They say that if you remember the ’60s you weren’t there, so fill that gap in your memory with the Solid Silver ’60s Show and relive the decade with original artists singing their greatest hits.

Tickets are £23.

Next is the Little Big Club on March 17 featuring Bob The Builder, Barney, Angelina Ballerina, Fireman Sam, Thomas & Friends and Pingu live on stage.

This all-new 90-minute musical adventure is a fabulous stage show experience for the whole family packed with the songs the characters are famous for.

Tickets are £12 for adults and £10 for children, or £42 for a family of four.

Finally, Strictly Come Dancing’s Katya Virshilas and Pasha Kovalev will present an evening of exhibition dance routines featuring the rumba, waltz, foxtrot, tango, jive and more, followed by a question and answer session.

The show is on April 13. Tickets are £23 (£22).
