A villager chased away a man believed to be a burglar who targeted a house in Colsterworth.
The neighbour to the property in Watt Avenue chased the suspect off the road and into fields.
The offender got away, but police would like to speak to a couple walking in the area who might have seen the suspect and could help with their enquiries.
Police were called to the property at around 7.10pm on Saturday.
